A Charming Bracelet

Charm bracelets are nothing new, but they certainly never go out of style.  Each season we watch as designers, celebrities and collectors show off the latest and greatest in fashionable charm memorabilia.

The Charm Bracelet itself was originally brought to popularity in Europe by her Royal Highness Queen Elizabeth, and gained fascination in the U.S. when World War II soldiers returned with trinkets for loved ones. Reminiscent of that same nostalgia, teenagers began collecting charms to celebrate special events and interests in their life. Charm bracelets continue to be a popular fashion trend with both adults and children alike.

One of the purposes behind the charm bracelet is to show others your favorite pastime or hobby. For example, a ballerina might have a pair of ballet slippers, a Music Note and a tutu on her charm bracelet.  A Dog Lover might have a locket with their pet's photo, a dog bone and their pet's initial. A charm bracelet is a great way to play into someone's niche interest and provide them with a trinket to add to their collection.

Charm bracelets can also commemorate certain life events that are of utmost importance. A bracelet might include a trophy, a car and a diploma to symbolize the progress a teenager has made in school. Charms may be worn on the bracelet or collected and displayed as part of the memories they represent.

The nice thing about charms is that each one is different. Even if the bracelet is made of Sterling Silver, it's okay to mix in Gold Plated or colored charms for added interest and appeal. The charms should be a reflection of the owner's personality, their goals and their lifestyle.

Recently, upscale design houses are showcasing branded charm bracelets and trinkets.  It's certainly nice to know that whatever your budget, there's a charm bracelet for you.

Can someone give me ADVICE on CHARM bracelets please?

Well my girlfriend is about to go on a long trip to Europe with her friend & I would like to buy a dangling charm bracelet for her.

What type of metal should i get? I only have $100 to spend.

I plan on adding one charm, my name and our anniversary, & more at a later time... So where would be a good place to get the bracelet and/or engraved charm?

you can then get your charms from anywhere, but be carefull online as i once got a keyring online which was meant to be metal, but it turned out to be plastic. hope i helped
