Koh Samui Is A Charming Tropical Island

Situated in the Gulf of Thailand in the South China Sea, about 90 km east of Surat Thani and roughly 750 km south of the capital city, Bangkok. Occupying an area of about 250 square kilometers, Koh Samui is the third largest island in Thailand, after the Ko Chang and Phuket islands.

Would these south american cichlid fish do well together (blood red parrot, severum, firemouth, midas?)?

I have a 40 gallon tank with 2 blood red parrot cichlids, 1 severum cichlid, and 1 firemouth cichlid today, and they all get along like a charm. The two parrot fish are 3 inches a piece, the severum is about 6 inches, and the firemouth is about 4 inches.

I was thinking of adding a midas cichlid or a red devil cichlid that is relatively the same size as the rest. Do you think this addition would be okay?

Those cichlids can coexist peacefully, although unfortunately, your aquarium is too small. Blood parrots, severums and firemouths grow to 8" when fully grown and midas/red devil cichlids actually grow up to 14".

While they are compatible, it's important that the aquarium is large enough to allow these cichlids to each claim a territory. A tank around 200g is recommended if you're planning on keeping midas/red devil cichlids with other South American cichlids of different species.

That being said, I recommend keeping just the blood parrots, severum and firemouth. Make sure you have at least a 150g tank though for all of those fish!
